17th Lincoln Santa Fun Run & Walk Returns For 2022

This year’s event will be started by the Mayor of Lincoln in Castle Square at 11am on Sunday 18th December. Running through historic uphill Lincoln and the Bailgate, it will end in Minster Yard.

Organised by the Rotary Club of Lincoln Colonia, the popular Lincoln Santa Fun Run is now a firm fixture in the city’s festive calendar having been run every year since 2005, making it the longest running consecutive running Santa Fun Run in the country.

With 2,000 places available we have a number of options for those wishing to take part.

Entrants can choose between a full 2 lap route of 4km and a shorter 1 lap route of 2km. Full registration for adults and children (over 5) includes a Santa suit, runner number and finishers medal.

There is also an eco-option which does not include a Santa suit for those who have their own, but runners must observe our dress code (on the website) to preserve the remarkable sight of a “sea of red Santa’s” streaming through uphill Lincoln.

As always dogs with well-behaved owners are welcome (please register).

As well as a great family event many teams from workplaces, schools, charities, clubs and pubs really enjoy the day. The website has a dedicated page to help people putting teams together for the day.

Local businesses and organisations sponsoring this year’s event are Lincoln BIG, Lincoln FFN, Rand Farm Park, Streets Chartered Accountants, Pennells Garden Centre, Ringrose Law and Wright Vigar Chartered Accountants.

A number of businesses have also supported the event by donating goods and services these include Imp Travel, EH Thorne (Beehives), YMCA Showroom, Eagle Self Storage, Events FR and Dunholme Camera Club.

50% of proceeds and donations will be given to this year’s feature charity EDAN Lincs (Ending Domestic Abuse in Lincolnshire Now) and the remaining 50% to other local and national charities.

On the day there will also be a food bank donation point for the Adi’s Legacy community group. Everyone attending (running, walking, spectating) is asked to bring along a contribution – a small amount from everyone will go a very long way to help so many families this year.

There is also a facility to sponsor a family ticket this year allowing some families not otherwise in a position to take part to enjoy this great event. Visit www.lincolnsantafunrun.co.uk for more information, or to register for the run visit https://lincolnsantafunrun.co.uk/shop/
