Cherries Hair and Beauty, based in Coningsby, were the proud winners in two categories at the 2021 Salon Awards held on the 21st of November.
Hosted by Errol Douglas MBE at the Leonardo Royal Hotel St Paul’s in London, the evening saw the attendance of 400 people who gathered in anticipation for the winners to be announced.
Cherries Hair and Beauty, which has been open since October 2008, was a finalist in 6 categories. Owned by Claire Sabberton and her father John Sabberton, it has 9 members that form the salon team: Emily, Simone, Bev, Claire, Ronni, Zara, Sade, Georgie and Ella.
They offer all hair and beauty services and specialise in Gold Fever and Beauty Works hair extensions, Keratin Revolution and 3D Trilogy Ice laser hair removal.
The team were delighted to win two awards on the night – ‘Best New or Refurbished Salon’ and ‘Most Sustainable Salon’.
“The Most Sustainable award was presented to us as we have changed our ethos of the salon” explains Claire, “we are proud members of the Green Salon Collective who take away all of our recycling materials used in the salon reducing this from landfill. We send all of our hair cuttings, plastic, paper and metal.”
They won the ‘Best New or Refurbished Salon’ award due to their initiative in taking advantage of the lockdowns by creating new rooms as well as making the salon Covid secure for their clients.
