A month ago, the nation sat down (or stood up if you travelled to London) to watch the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III officially crowned as King.
Schools up and down the country marked the celebrations in their own unique ways.
In Lincolnshire, there was plenty of activities going on and this article reflects that from some of our contributors to the June 2023 editions of our local community magazines.
The featured image of this article is a stunning piece of artwork created by the children at, St Andrew’s Church of England Primary School, who enjoyed the Friday before the Coronation with an enormous picnic for the whole school with some joyous and topical coronation themed songs preceding the feast.
Meanwhile, at Waddington All Saints Academy, they had a really fun week where they learned the history and traditions behind the coronation and made some fantastic artwork through the form of bunting, sewing, cards, crowns and portraits.
South Hykeham Community Primary School held a Royal Variety Show where their peers entertained them with: dancing, music, gymnastics and much more!
Bassingham Primary School enjoyed a right royal banquet (fit for a King, some may say!) and enjoyed completing craft activities and playing some fun lawn games.
Finally, at Leslie Manser Primary School, they embarked on an educational journey learning all about King Charles III’s: family, roles and responsibilities; his life and what they could expect to see at the Coronation. Decorations and artwork were made before friends and families were invited to come into school and have a celebratory picnic.
