Lincoln-Based Punk Band Finally Perform Delayed Hometown Debut

Born in the city of Lincoln, Hell’s Ditch are a new British punk group full of heart and determination that pack a punch. Championed by the likes of BBC Radio 1’s The Rock Show, Kerrang! Magazine and Radio X, Hell’s Ditchare quickly rising through the ranks as “one of the UKs most exciting up and coming bands” according to Punktastic.

Earning their stripes in the underground touring circuit, the members of Hell’s Ditch met while touring in previous acts well known in the UK and European punk scene including River Jumpers, Chief, Bad Ideas, Dearist, Maycomb and Knock Out Kaine. After sharing stages with the likes of Anti-Flag, H20, Reel Big Fish Mad Caddies, Off With Their Heads and The Swellers, as well as appearing at the prestigious Download, Groezrock and Rebellion festivals, the group joined forces to begin crafting a set of songs with the intention of making it their most ambitious work to date.

With several festival appearances and headline shows shelved in the last few years due to the pandemic, the band finally took to the road on their rescheduled UK tour with Chicago punk export Kali Masi in December. With a special appearance of Grimsby’s Last Of The Wonder Kids at their Lincoln show on the 1st December, the band were thrilled to finally be able to play to a home crowd.

It was amazing to finally play a hometown show… especially with the kind of turnout we had on a Wednesday night” explains guitarist, Lee Byrne.

“Lincoln has always been great to us over the years in our former bands, so it’s a city which we could never leave off any tour poster. There is a scene here which has been built by many bands, promoters, venues, and artists over the years which makes the city special.

“The Kali Masi tour was great. They are an insane band and were good as gold to us. We were originally due to do this tour in April 2020, which got canned due to the obvious. It’s been about 5 years for all of us since our last tours (in previous bands) so there’s been an itch to be back on the road for quite some time, and to be able to do it with Hell’s Ditch means everything.”

Despite the hurdles, Hell’s Ditch managed to hit the ground running earning the ear of BBC Radio 1’s The Rock Show DJ Daniel P. Carter, BBC Introducing DJ’s as well as John Kennedy at Radio X and personal selection from celebrated punk rock troubadour Frank Turner in his personally curated ‘One Foot Before The Other’ playlist.
