Organised by Events in Lincoln as part of City of Lincoln Council, and supported by BBC Radio Lincolnshire, a two-day music event was held in September which saw 12 up and coming artists from Lincoln and the wider area perform in Cornhill Square.
Crowds were wowed by the likes of The Rills, Kings & Bears and Amber King, as well as artists from the East Midlands, as chosen by BBC Music Introducing East Midlands presenter Dean Jackson – who presented his show live from the Lincoln Live stage.
City of Lincoln Council also worked with local businesses in the city centre, giving them the opportunity to get involved in the weekend to make this a new, popular event in the city’s calendar.
Presenter Dean Jackson said: “Lincoln Live was a fantastically exciting opportunity to see some of the top new artists, not only coming out of Lincolnshire but the area beyond. I’m stoked to have worked with the team to curate an array of stunning music, the likes of which has never been seen in the city before.
“Lincoln’s reputation for nurturing great musicians is already well-known, but this really gave us a chance to showcase that and promote it across the whole of the East Midlands on a new, vibrant stage.”
