Lincoln’s Green Spaces: September Events

As the summer holidays wind down and we start to welcome Autumn, there’s still plenty of fun to be had across Lincoln’s Green Spaces.

Kite Making – Lincoln Arboretum

Thursday 1st September 10.00am to 11.30am

“With tuppence for paper and string you can have your own set of wings!” Join the Rangers and try your hand at making a kite and see if it flies! Spend some time creating your very own flying masterpiece. There is a charge of £3.50 per child for this event and booking is essential. 

Meet at 10am at the Bandstand, Lincoln Arboretum, Monks Road, Lincoln, LN2 5HU

Pond Dipping – Hartsholme Country Park

Thursday 1st September 1pm to 2.30pm

Explore the hidden depths and delve beneath the surface of our wildlife pond to see what creepy critters are lurking below in the underwater world. There is a charge of £3.50 per child for this event and booking is essential. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Bird Watching For All – Hartsholme Country Park

Sunday 4th September 10.30am to 12.30pm and Sunday 9th October 10.30am to 12.30pm

Join local RSPB members for a guided walk around Hartsholme Country Park and Swanholme Lakes Local Nature Reserve to discover the many species of birds which reside here throughout the year. The walk will last around 2 hours, taking a route along woodland paths, which in places are undulating and at times wet and muddy. This event is free of charge and all children must be accompanied by an adult. Suitable for all age groups.

Discover the History of Hartsholme Country Park – Hartsholme Country Park

Thursday 15th September 11am to 1pm

As part of the Lincolnshire Heritage Open Days 2022 join Park Rangers for a guided walk to discover the History of Hartsholme Country Park. This walk will take you back through time from when Hartsholme was a thriving estate to the present-day Country Park. The walk will last around 2 hours, taking a route along woodland paths, which in places are undulating and at times wet and muddy. This event is free of charge and all children must be accompanied by an adult.

Toddler Time – Hartsholme Country Park

Friday 16th September 10am to 11am

Join Park Rangers and dress to get messy for seasonal activities for the under 5s! There is a charge of £3.50 per child for this event. All children must be accompanied by an adult. This activity is aimed at children aged 1 to 5 years.
