Nick Moran has launched a new home care company in Lincoln, inspired by his personal experience trying to find care for his mother, as he looks to help other families who find themselves in a similar situation needing support with a loved one.
Nick is keen to get people talking to their ageing parents, so they can understand the options available to them, before they find themselves in a crisis situation, not knowing where to turn for support.
Home Instead Lincoln, Nick’s new company, will deliver care for people in their own homes, enabling them to stay living in comfortable and familiar surroundings. The care ranges from personal care, such as help with dressing, bathing and medication, as well as companionship and light housekeeping and tailored services for those living with dementia, Parkinson’s and other conditions.
Commenting on his new venture, Nick says: “I know the feeling. Your parents aren’t as fit as they once were and they need some support, but we don’t want to talk about it. To add to the situation, many people don’t live near their family these days and life is filled with so many responsibilities like work, children and day to day life.
“Home care is becoming increasingly important as we age, more and more people want to remain living independently in their own homes for as long as possible. It provides real peace of mind to everyone knowing that someone is providing support and making sure all is well when you can’t always be there.”
Local lady, Sarah Cooper has joined the company as care manager. She will be using her 25 years of experience in care, maintaining the company’s exceptionally high standards and working closely with clients and their families to provide the right care package for them.
Home Instead is looking for 30-50 new care professionals to come onboard and undergo the company’s training so they can make a positive difference to local older people across Lincoln and surrounding areas.
Care professionals are matched to clients based on similar interests, helping to build a trusting relationship. Visits are a minimum of one hour which provides time to really care.
