The 67th running of the Rapha Lincoln Grand Prix – Presented by Wattbike, is gearing up to take place on Sunday 14th May. It’s going to be another great weekend of cycling for the Professional riders and spectators – but also around 1000 participants who will take part in the Lincoln GP Sportive the day before – all finishing up the infamous climb of Michaelgate. The Sportive is open to anyone to enter and there are three distances to choose from – 35, 62 & 102 miles.
Michaelgate has for many years been the centre piece of the event and this year will be no different! Crowds in their thousands are expected to line the cobbled climb as well as Castle Square and Bailgate to see the women tackle eight times around the eight-mile circuit (9am start) and the men 13 laps of the same circuit. There will be an opportunity for spectator involvement too as Wattbike will be holding a Michaelgate challenge on their static bikes. Providing an accurate representation of the cobbled hill, spectators will have the chance to see if they can match the power of those who will be taking home the cobbled trophies!
Why not get along and enjoy the atmosphere? A fantastic day is in store and with 150 of the top UK riders expected to line up for both the women’s and men’s and we can be sure that the winners of both events will be one of the UK’s very best!
