This November, coming to a village hall near you (if you live in Scothern). The comedy play everyone is talking about (if you are a member of the cast!). Winner of the “Which Play Shall We Do Next” award at this year’s AGM. We present the hysterical comedy “Play on!” by Rick Abbot.
Act 1 – The story begins during rehearsals for a murder mystery. All is not going well. The author is still writing new scenes, the cast do not know their lines, or in which order they occur and the set is not finished.
Act 2 – Dress rehearsal and the wigs are not right, nerves are frayed, new pages of dialogue keep appearing and the sound effects get wiped.
Act 3 – Opening night. Can the cast pull it all together? Can they produce a rip-roaring success from a certain disaster? Of course they can’t!
Marvel at the visual spectacular. See ten of the finest local actors fall flat on their faces as all goes to hell in a handcart. Be amused by situations you never thought could happen on the stage. Will Louise ever finish hammering? Will the script ever be finished? Will the ruby/diamond find its way out of Violet’s cleavage?
Yes, Scothern Players are returning to their comedy roots. Come join us this Autumn for an evening of theatrical fun. Please see the poster for details.
